Proverbs 2:11; Proverbs 5:1-2; Proverbs 16:22; Genesis 9:21-23; 1 Peter 4:8; Proverbs 10:19; 1 Thessalonians 4:11; Proverbs 11:22

We are walking in today:  Taming The Tongue--The Discreet and the Loquacious Tongue

Proverbs 2:11 Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:2 Samuel 12  the whole chapter about David and Bathsheba
Proverbs 5:1-2 1) My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: 2) That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.Proverbs 16:22 Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the instruction of fools is folly.
Genesis 9:21-23 21) And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent. 22) And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without. 23) And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.
1 Peter 4:8 (AMP)
Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].
Proverbs 10:19  In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise.1 Thessalonians 4:11  And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;Proverbs 11:22 As a jewel of gold in a swine's snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion

This morning we have a study on the discreet and the loquacious tongue.  Thank You God for teaching us that we must not speak or repeat all that we hear.  There is some corrections that will come in a private setting.  We have to trust and know that God knows best.  Just as much as we would like correction in private, doesn't that person who has done wrong want the same thing?!  We have to look and see that love covers--all does not need to be exposed, we need to get out of God's way--that is not for you to do!  Your tongue is supposed to be on a fast--that you are not just speaking any and everything that comes to your mind.  Your actions reap consequences, so are you speaking life or death?  Are you reaping death or life?   So instead of telling others, how about you pray to He who can heal and restore those that are fallen.  Or better yet, take a look at yourself and see where you need God to heal and restore you!  Everything does not need to be shared, don't be listed as a talebarer!  Fiveamprayer we have got to get this together, that we stand on one accord, no more division because of talking about others!  The enemy wants us to be divided and weakened.  We must hold our peace and don't be moved by emotions that will speak death instead of life.  We need our response to be prayer and being still and knowing that He is God!  We don't have to prove who we are, trust God and rely in who He is!  Everything is not to be published--look to God and get direction from Him.  In marriages a praying wife can save her husband.  Wives need to walk in Proverbs 31 that your husband is known in the gates because of how well you speak of him!  Thank You Lord for this word!  We pray that You would pour back into Sandy for all that she has poured out in this study.  Thank You God for blessing, covering and keeping her.  We give You all the praise, honor and glory!  Amen!  To listen to this message click here.

We seal this prayer in His precious blood, by His Spirit:  We take this day as a day of silence, to be still and hear and listen to God.  We will hold our peace and trust God in the stillness!
